TAPU (Tapu) is the only document that confirms the ownership of real estate in Turkey. Under Turkish law, its legitimacy cannot be challenged even in the courts.
Tapu is of two types:
- red tapu - real estate in a residential complex, hotel or commercial property,
- blue tapu - in case of buying a land plot.
Registration of the real estate purchase and sale transaction and the issuance of TAPU is carried out in the cadastral department at the location of the acquired property.
Up to 10 people can be entered in the certificate, there are no age restrictions during registration, and minor children can also be registered in the certificate.
The cost of TAPU registration - the exact amount is determined by state authorities, the tax depends on the cadastral value. The approximate cost of TAPU registration is from 2,000 euros.
